The Cake and Sugarcraft Centre in Hedge End, near Southampton will host this class. It’s an ideal class for beginners and those looking to perfect their cake decorating skills. The day will combine a detailed demonstration and a hands-on workshop. Each participant will ice and decorate an 8 inch sponge cake.
Our experienced tutor, Julie Hancock, will teach you how to prepare a sponge cake for covering in sugar paste and how to ensure a smooth coat. You will learn how to colour sugar paste, how to mould with modelling paste and how to make simple flowers and add some piped detail to decorate your cake. Julie will share lots of tips and hints during the class and will of course answer all your questions.
Cake, materials and all equipment are included in the cost of the class and will be provided for you. All you need to bring is an apron.
We will serve light refreshments during the class. Please feel free to bring snacks and a packed lunch.
